I have penned an article on #Day9 of the #winterabc challenge about 4 media accounts why I follow and love about them.

Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Town, @FabAcademic on Twitter.

I would go and go describe her to you but I have already done that; https://sirchocx.wixsite.com/website/post/when-grace-wielded-power.

I'm in awe of how she is in a way still human, yes still human. Power has a tendency to corrupt even the softest of things and magnify people's ill-traits.

She is grounded, humble and surprisingly sociable for someone of her stature. If we ever meet that's what my first question will be all about, how she has remained approachable and humane in the face of all her success.

Her work ethic is admirable, you would think with all the success to her name she would be laid back and all. No, she is hard-working, part of the 3am, motivating and pushing not only herself but Africa's cherubs with hopes and desires to emancipate themselves. She is way older than most of us and honestly speaking has a busier schedule but that doesn't stop her from engaging others and even having a workout schedule. Yes, you're guilty of procrastinating and not working out. She does, so what's your excuse now (chuckles.)

I love her passion and pragmatism. I recently saw a video clip where she was saying how it's mandatory for medical students to pass isiXhoxa before they can graduate as professional Dr's. How profound, our institutions churn out professional proficient only in English at the expense of native tounges. Why? We never to took time to question and scrutinise the status core, she did. Not only is it a pragmatic way to preserve our languages, heritage, and culture but also improves efficiency and service delivery because they have to be able to understand and converse with their patience. She's my role model. Yup when I grow up I want to be like the Deputy Mother.

Though the world has progressed much especially tech-wise. We are retrogressing in our socializing, seeing her maintain that with her stature is really incredible.
