Teenagers, class, me, literally Laughed Out Loud. Cherubs should always be in capable hands & mine well yeah lol, but here we go. So what is the internet? Imagine a jar that goes around the world & literally everyone, well almost everyone is always continuously adding their bits in there. Be it be pictures, holiday experiences, DIY tutorials of sorts, dance videos et cetera & you're able to access & retrieve whatever you need. Search engines such a Google, Bing, Yahoo & Ask.com to mention just a few are the tools that we use to query the internet, find & retrieve what we are looking for. The internet is a synergy of a vast amount of resources that can be available to us at a click of a finger. Now you can Google literally anything. The internet brings the world into the palm of your hands & makes our lives easier to navigate. Communication has been made easy, almost all forms of communication are now instantaneous regardless of the distance between individuals. Social media platforms, emails, VoIP calls. All this allows for fast & efficient conducting of business, it allows you tap into diverse markets which would be difficult to otherwise. There is need to be circumspect though, a significant portion of 7 billion people are adding their bits to this jar, not everyone has pure intentions. There is need to be vigilant with our use of the internet & need to use it with moderation as well. A blog is a just another one of the many ways the internet has enhanced communication. It's a website or a web page run by an individual or a group that's constantly updated. It's more or less like a journal, a platform to interact, share, learn, teach, possibly make money with like minded individuals. Consider it your bit of putting bits into that jar we spoke about earlier doing its rounds around the world. It can be formal or informal depending on what you wish to accomplish & the individuals you wish to engage. Blogging is a great tool, it allows you to grow as a writer, learn through interacting with peers in whatever field you're in. Most bloggers I know concur that it is therapeutic, it serves as an outlet of sorts & allows one to heal & embark on the path of self discovery & growth. The internet is a powerful tool that we cannot negate in the contemporary world. We need to vigilantly exploit it & better our lives & the world around us. We also need to add our bits into the jar to keep it buoyant. Blogging is a very easy way to do this. Thank you for coming to my TED talk on the Internet & Blogging lol.
